2016 Trend: Statement Mirrors

2016 has brought us a plethora of fresh trends and a few that have been gliding on year by year. This year we have seen our clients add statement mirrors to many of their homes in a variety of areas including, powder rooms, master bathrooms, foyers, mudrooms and grand dressing rooms. Burnished, aged, whitewashed we like our mirrors with character and we like our mirrors in plenty of different finishes and shapes. The light bouncing around the room to great effect is of course the greatest aspect of hanging mirrors but doing so with a statement mirrors dictates a style, a mood, a contrast. Top stylists recommend considering the tone of the room and echoing or complementing architectural and structural elements already at play. Don’t be afraid of mixing metal, finishes, and stains – do so with intention.
